Change acquires Dutch brokerage

Hey Changemakers!

We’re excited to let you know that as of April 2022, Change has acquired a brokerage from the Netherlands.

With this investment brokerage license now under the Change Group, we can ramp-up our investment footprint with traditional opportunities - including stocks, shares, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and even commodities, as well as established crypto and DeFI products.

Trading with traditional investment instruments, like the derivatives of US stocks, indices and commodities have been already available from the Change app since 2021. This was made possible through a partnership with a regulated Dutch investment firm. From April 2022 we acquired the same Dutch investment firm to tailor the trading experience even further for our community.

We believe having an investment license from a trusted country like the Netherlands opens up a new era for us to expand throughout Europe and offer financial services to the 453 million people living in the European Economic Area.

What does this mean for you as a Change user?

Being a regulated investment firm in Europe offers added peace of mind for customers as there are additional security and compliance measures that are put in place.

We believe that wealth creation comes from having the freedom to invest your money in a variety of different instruments–with as few steps and with as low of a cost as possible. Some of the key reasons why our target audience put off investing in stocks involve: high entry barriers, the complexity of tools, and high fees. Look for Change’s answers to these problems in our upcoming updates!.

What to expect in the near future?

Change started out as a cryptocurrency wallet; we are happy to see how we have matured together with our community to an all-in-one investment app.

Changemakers already have dozens of new investment instruments in the pipeline and we plan to provide many more traditional investment instruments in the Change app by the end of Q2 2022.
